Blood in gun free zones falls on the hands of anti gun politicians By David Risselada

gunfree-zone-criminals
When an event like the one in Charleston South Carolina occurs, it’s hard to know exactly what to say. Before anybody gets a chance to do any serious inquiry the left has already gone into full blown reactionary mode, making it difficult to get others to see the facts. While the usual talking heads go on and on blaming guns and conservatives, with the help of television media no less, actual statistics and facts that may be useful are relegated to the sidelines where millions may be able to see them, but they matter little nonetheless. We have very little control over this narrative, and we all see exactly where this is going; the furthering of the gun control agenda.  We all knew this was coming, we could feel it in our bones. The consequences of moral relativism and a President intent on pushing a false social justice agenda have reached its culmination, and it’s only going to get worse.
It’s tragic when a life is lost to senseless violence. It is even more tragic when that life could have been saved by exercising common sense. Once again, innocent lives weren’t lost because a criminal got his hands on a gun; lives were lost because innocent law abiding citizens were prohibited from exercising their natural rights to self defense. In other words, the church was a “gun free zone.” South Carolina law, Title 23, Chapter 31 prohibits the carrying of lawfully concealed firearms in churches, and as a consequence, a mad gunman took advantage of helpless victims.
killing zones

The following is the list of prohibited places a person may carry a concealed firearm.
(M) A permit issued pursuant to this section does not authorize a permit holder to carry a concealable weapon into a:
(1) law enforcement, correctional, or detention facility;
(2) courthouse or courtroom;
(3) polling place on election days;
(4) office of or the business meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special purpose district;
(5) school or college athletic event not related to firearms;
(6) daycare facility or preschool facility;
(7) place where the carrying of firearms is prohibited by federal law;
(8) church or other established religious sanctuary unless express permission is given by the appropriate church official or governing body;

(9) hospital, medical clinic, doctor’s office, or any other facility where medical services or procedures are performed unless expressly authorized by the employer; or
Did you notice that line 8 explicitly states that permission may be granted by the appropriate church official?
It’s too bad that our culture has been inundated with such a vile, anti gun attitude; nine lives could have been saved if someone in that church had a gun. It’s not as if South Carolina hasn’t seen this before. In Spartanburg, a man with a concealed carry permit stopped a shooter at his church when a man busted down the door with a shot gun. No one was injured in this situation as the concealed carry permit holder was able to subdue the suspect at gun point until police arrived. Another incident in Colorado Springs proves that guns can save lives when a volunteer security guard put herself between an active shooter and his victims, and shot him with her duty weapon. She was a former law enforcement officer but the fact remains that it was a good guy (or woman) with a gun that stopped a bad guy with a gun.
Sadly, this loss of innocent life in Charleston is the fault of anti gun politicians who foolishly believe limiting people’s ability to defend themselves is the way to prevent crime. According to the current law, it was illegal for a man to bring a gun into the church. That law didn’t stop the shooter. It is unlawful to carry a firearm with the intent of using it against another human being, according to South Carolina law. That law didn’t stop him. It has been revealed that the shooter was taking psychotropic drugs. People who have been deemed “mentally ill” are already prohibited from owning firearms.  That law didn’t stop him. The only thing that would have stopped that man is another gun, plain and simple.
The South Carolina legislature had the opportunity to right this wrong as H. 3025 would have repealed the prohibition against concealed carrying in churches. Unfortunately, this bill did not pass, leaving the church goers, and others who dare to venture into gun free zones completely helpless. This, in the opinion of this humble writer, leaves the blood of these victims squarely on the hands of those who refuse to exercise sound logic and instead, argue with pure emotion. In many ways this proves beyond a reasonable doubt that there is an agenda to strip us of our responsibility to protect our loved ones because reasonable men would see the fallacy in the “gun free zone” argument. Reasonable men would see that no matter how many laws are passed with the intention of stopping violence, the only people inclined to follow these laws are “law abiding citizens.” Too many times facts and honest statistics are tossed aside in an effort to pass “feel good legislation” that does little more than give the appearance that law makers are trying to do something. This type or reckless lawmaking needs to stop. The only thing these politicians are doing is convincing their constituents that they are more concerned with accomplishing an agenda than they are with stopping violent crime.
